Last Tuesday Weston College hosted a careers fair for people that recently completed the HGV Skills Bootcamp, at the Construction Training Centre.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet organisations currently recruiting, such as, Turnbull Infrastructure & Utilities Ltd, SUEZ, Blue Arrow, AmeyBriggs, and Arthur David (Food with Service) LTD.
The event proved to be a huge success, with a significant number of participants securing interviews or driver assessments pre-hire. This positive outcome exemplified the impact of the college’s driver training efforts in promoting real employment opportunities.
Louise Greene, Employer Partnership Manager at Weston College, said: “The HGV Careers Fair was a brilliant event, with so many positive outcomes.
“Being able to support people looking to retrain and enter a new industry is fantastic, but to also support them with then finding a job is what Weston College is all about!
“I would like to thank all the employers that attended; by collaborating, we can have a really positive impact on the local community. I would also like to wish all of the participants that gained interviews or driver assessments pre-hire the best of luck.
“Looking ahead, Weston College is committed to organising similar events in the future, continually fostering connections between job seekers and employers.”
